Job Description

We are looking for an software engineer to design and build large-scale data processing, visualization, and analytics insights architecture for 10x growth in the new video shopping business.

Our team is building a video platform to re-imagine Amazon as a video-centric shopping destination. Our customers include business teams in Amazon and outside Sellers and Vendors, who run their businesses off our critical video data. You will be building new scalable architectures to provide insights on millions of videos shown millions of times each week. These diverse customers are driving our data platform development from new kinds of data, new powerful analysis tools, and faster turnaround times. When you join our team, you will design and implement a new data aggregation, analysis, visualization, and API platform. You will tackle these exciting computational domains:
  • NoSQL and SQL architectures
  • Event-based workflow architecture
  • Browser-based visualization (including dynamic graphs with JavaScript)
  • Adhoc data queries
  • SQL and ETL (extract, transform, load)
  • Amazon.com shopping data processing
  • Exploring new technologies including Elastic Search, Kibana, and AWS QuickSight

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3+ years professional experience in software development
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and problem solving
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Java, C#, C++, Nodejs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in computer science
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Video and Media Experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
