Job Description

Join Amazon and enjoy Fridays off or shorter work days year-round! Amazon is piloting part-time teams in the People Tech group, where we are building high-visibility, enterprise-wide solutions, all on a 30-hour work week schedule. These solutions will be at the heart of workforce planning for one of the most innovative and fastest growing companies on Earth. Each team member, including managers, are on the same part-time schedule, eliminating the challenges that can come from being part-time on a full-time team. As a part-time engineer, you’ll receive the same benefits as full-time employees, with compensation proportionate to working ¾ time.

The Workforce Technology team will be chartered to build high-visibility, enterprise-wide solutions that leverage Alexa Skills voice-interaction to improve Amazon employee productivity. These solutions will be at the forefront of Voice Assistant technology applications for the workplace, in one of the largest and fastest-growing companies on earth.

If you’re an engineer who is in a reduced schedule, can think big and wants to build innovative voice-powered workforce solutions for the current and future leaders of Amazon, then the Workforce Technology team is a great fit. Note that reduced-schedule employees will have on-call responsibilities as needed.

You will contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing and operations. You will push your design and architecture limits by owning all aspects of solutions end-to-end, through full stack software development. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. As a part of the Workforce Technology team, you will deliver robust feature sets, elegant designs, and intuitive user interfaces that make it easy for Amazonians to excel at performing critical business functions.
