Software Development Engineer – AWS Streaming Data (New Initiative)
What do some of the most loved companies in consumer-online, gaming, IoT, and e-commerce have in common when it comes to their Big Data infrastructure on AWS? They all capture, store and analyze massive amounts of streaming data in milliseconds with Amazon Kinesis to power their mission-critical data flows. Amazon recently acquired Elemental Technologies, a pioneer in software-defined video solutions for top-tier media franchises, and Twitch, which is the much-loved video game broadcast platform. Amazon Instant Video is a fast growing business for all Amazon customers. Now, we get to combine all of these experiences to achieve an even bolder vision.
We are looking for motivated software development engineers to build and operate a brand new, customer-facing service for a massive scale streaming video cloud solution on AWS. This is not about the next version of an existing service or product so it is important to tackle technically challenging and ambiguous areas head-on. This engineer has a strong results orientation and has thrived in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment. A high level of ownership and accountability is a must.
If you are fascinated by these possibilities, and are excited at the prospect of having at your disposal the broadest and deepest set of compute and storage resources, and the smartest algorithms, we have the right role for you.Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, implementation, testing and documentation of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software, tools, systems and services
- Translate functional requirements into robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture
- Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance
