Are you passionate about developing customer experiences in Android applications?


The Amazon Device Services and Security team is looking for software engineers interested in working on large scale and highly available systems, which enable Amazon devices to interact with Amazon-enabled services. Our team owns both the device and web service components that allow data to flow between devices and the Amazon cloud.
Our engineers are top-notch software developers who love listening to the customers, working as a team, and proactively taking the lead whenever necessary. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions that has the potential to impact hundreds of millions customers around the world. In this role, you will have an opportunity to own design and development of key parts of services. You will have influence on subsystem design and help build a team culture around practices that are critical to a quality product.


Responsibilities include:
• Design and develop Android application software.
• Investigate, prototype, and deliver innovative software applications.
• Deliver high quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.


Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of software development engineering experience.
  • Engineering process experience, with a full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience developing production-quality consumer Android applications.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Experience with embedded systems preferred
  • User interface development experience.
  • Hardware engineering background a plus.
  • Superior design and architecture knowledge, as well as familiarity with object oriented design patterns.
  • 5+ years of Mobile applications development (preferably using Java or Android).
  • Robust project planning/execution skills including estimating, scheduling, and executing on committed schedules.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, and problem solving skills.
