Job Description

Amazon Linux is the premier operating system for AWS, optimized to enable all AWS features and high performance on EC2. As a Principal TPM in Amazon Linux, you will help build the roadmap and execution for new releases of Amazon Linux, and maintain and provide security for current releases. You will help drive complex migrations inside of Amazon. The team also works closely with our partners in other open source distributions. Our goal is for every major Linux distribution to be great on AWS, which we do through a combination of upstreaming our improvements, and working directly with partners. Finally, the team provides the Linux distribution used for AWS’s Xen-based hypervisor, making it a key component of EC2.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage complex dependencies, and understand the complexities of building and distributing operating systems. You’ll need to work in the open source world, and understand how the OS interacts with other ecosystems. You’ll need to deeply understand and prioritize complex customer requirements. Basic Qualifications

· 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment
· 7 + years TPM experience in technically deep teams
· 5+ years of experience in/around OS development

Preferred Qualifications

· Deep experience with the open source community (7+ years)
· Deep experience with hypervisors, including hypervisor development, preferably Xen or KVM
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
