Job Description

The Amazon Business organization is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to manage the technical design and implementation of solutions for business customers, on high visibility projects such as Pay-by-Invoice, Discovery, Shopping Experience, Internal Procurement, and Customer Acquisition. The Sr. TPM will work closely with Product Management and our partner teams in breaking down complex business requirements into manageable projects, design solutions to solve complex technical problems, and while balancing business needs versus technical constraints, drive successful execution in a timely and agile manner.

The technically strong and passionate leader who joins us will be a key member of the Amazon Business global team. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for the B2B space and wants to challenge the status quo to deliver innovative products to delight our business customers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on industry experience working with payment, ordering, procurement, and accounting systems and is well-versed in working across multiple partner teams to deliver complex technical solutions. Basic Qualifications


Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing full life-cycle technical projects or programs of an increasingly large and complex scale in a related industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline required or 4+years equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing software development efforts in, distributed systems and/or developing large scale e-commerce and web applications.
  • Experience professionally developing software in languages like Java, C++, Perl or another current web technology.
  • Ability to prioritize and understand constraints in both customer and business terms
  • Ability to establish credibility and work with key internal partners to get things done
  • Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel, Visio, and Project

  • A solid grasp of the business side of technology with an understanding and zeal for metrics and analysis to deliver on business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly innovative in a related area: B2B marketplaces, mobile platform solutions, tax compliance, industry certification, procurement systems, EDI, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of business
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • Previous work experience as a software developer in a Unix/Linux environment utilizing agile methodologies
