Job Description

Amazon Prime is one of the highest-visibility groups across Amazon, and the Prime Membership team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to design and build new services for innovative products used by millions of Prime members around the world.

To succeed as a Software Development Engineer for Prime Membership, the skill to build highly-scalable, fault-tolerant systems that can withstand millions of operations per day will not be enough. You will be responsible for projects that require enhancements to multiple systems, including many outside your team's ownership. You’ll need a proven ability to design elegant solutions to new challenges spanning multiple systems, and to effectively share your technical vision with others. This high level of ownership will challenge you to grow both as an engineer and as a leader. Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design and data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • 2+ years professional experience in software development
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming language, such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems with service oriented architectures
  • Experience with Linux development
  • Demonstrated strong technical judgment in conjunction with passionate customer-focus
  • Passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, clean technical solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
