Job Description

The Amazon Studios team is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. The Amazon Studios finance team is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to drive improvements in financial planning & analysis and analytics with a focus on content spend of Amazon Original TV series. The right individual will have exceptional finance and analytical skills, firm business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results and meeting the business demands of senior-level executives.
He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of analyses. This position involves many ad hoc projects, and therefore a successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables.
The team needs a self-starter, who has demonstrated financial acumen and/or analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results. The candidate will need to able to collaborate with business partners both domestically as well as abroad and must display strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level business managers.

  • Prepare financial forecasting and reporting for content spend of all Amazon Original TV series
  • Build and refine review packages, forecast models, and handle day-to-day activities related to forecasting/planning. Help streamline planning/reporting, as well as identify improvement and prioritization opportunities within these business areas
  • Create complex financial models to analyze the performance of Amazon Original TV series. This will require developing robust analytical frameworks and also the ability to effectively collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to gather inputs and build reporting processes
  • Create new tools/systems/dashboards that enable teams throughout Digital Video to analyze the various costs and value-drivers for Amazon Original series
This role will be based in Santa Monica, California.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • 5+ years relevant experience in positions that require analysis and reporting of financial results or experience in business intelligence
  • Advanced Excel skills (index/match, pivot tables, VBA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with SQL as well as reporting and visualization using Tableau
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems including Oracle Financials and COGNOS/TM1/Essbase
  • MBA from a top school
  • Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment
