We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our company as the Human Resources Leader for Amazon's Prime business.

The HR function at Amazon has a five-pronged mission: “Enable Growth”, “Develop Large Leaders”, “Cultivate Culture”, “Operate Optimally” and “Enhance Employee Experience”. This HR leader will focus on developing and implementing an HR strategy that ensures that these strategies are aligned with the business objectives and Amazon’s culture.

Reporting to the Sr. HR Leader for eCommerce Platforms, this HR Leader will partner with the various senior leaders (VP's and Directors) along with their respective leadership teams to develop and execute the HR strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. The individual in this role will assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development, retention and leadership development, and drive the appropriate solutions in these areas. The leader will set a compelling vision and advise the HRBP(s) in their team on escalations.

Basic Qualifications

Specifically, responsibilities include the ability to:
  • Understand the Consumer business model and objectives, and contribute to the development of both business and HR strategies that align with objectives
  • Drive informed decision making by using data to identify trends; work with business leaders to determine root cause of issues; develop organizational effectiveness solutions
  • Identify and take action on coaching opportunities including the facilitation of individual, team and leadership interventions
  • Partner with senior leadership and recruiting to develop workforce plans and staffing models that support business objectives and advance the business and functions (talent acquisition, onboarding, development, talent movement)
  • Support the implementation of structures and strategies to improve individual and organizational performance
  • Advance diversity and inclusion efforts for the business by driving the organization’s diversity plan and leading implementation plans
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in an HR generalist leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to drive human resource strategies and programs in a complex environment at the most senior levels of an organization
  • Ability to work well across different functions and locations, understanding the importance of remote teams.
  • Experience working with high-tech organizations
  • Organization Development expertise, including organizational diagnostics, org structure alignment to business requirements, and change management expertise
  • Experience in executive coaching
  • Experience working with global teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
  • Team building and team development capabilities
  • Experience managing HR professionals
  • Highly analytical about leading the function and ensure that the organization rigorously measures and analyzes the right things to drive success.
  • An ability to continuously see around the corners to anticipate the talent needs and have strategies in place to meet the needs of a fast growing, dynamic business.
  • Shows bias for action, and demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to identify issues and root cause; willingness to dive deep into details.
  • Known for high judgment and proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills, and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams.
  • Masters Degree or MBA
