Job Description

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key partner for the growing Japan Kindle Content Team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in growing existing business and developing new products. This role will be based in either Seattle or Tokyo.
The Senior Financial Analyst will perform financial modeling and analysis during annual planning, business reviews, product development, and new product launches. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, detail oriented, and has the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including vendor management, product development, marketing, and software development.

Key Responsibilities
· Utilize SQL and advanced excel modeling to perform ad hoc analysis to help grow the business and inform business leadership.
· Drive the core financial processes including annual operating plans, long term plans, and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
· Provide financial controllership in support of publisher negotiations, pricing promotions, and headcount planning.
· Identify operating improvements, deep dive on variances and projections, and analyze business opportunities/investments.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, computer science, engineering or a related field
· BA/BS + 6 years of relevant Finance experience or MBA + 3 years of relevant corporate experience

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced Excel and SQL skills
· Advanced analytical skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
· Strong track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines
· Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
· Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
