Job Description

The Internet of Things (IoT) Services team within AWS is responsible for setting the strategy and delivering IoT specific services and products that help customers collect and send data to the cloud, make it easy to load and analyze that information, and provide the ability to manage their devices.
We are looking for an experienced Director Product Management & Go-To-Market (GTM) to help us grow the business by defining and delivering industry leading services, tools and applications for IoT and get them deployed by our customers.
IoT deployments consist of complex distributed compute systems, powered by specialized applications tailored to industry-specific use cases in logistics, life sciences, energy, retail, consumer packaged goods, insurance, and a multitude of other verticals. The ability to connect any type of devices, manage them remotely and collect various types of data is new for many of our customers. The value created by generating insights out of the data and applying business logic on top of it is transformational for entire businesses. The knowledge and technology required to master these new IoT systems from conception over development, deployment and application is beyond the capabilities of most companies. Mastering these areas and hiding the complexity of the underlying plumbing for IoT systems will be of high value for our customers.
In this role, you will hire and lead multiple technical product management teams who own strategy, product direction, and drive execution of key products covering IoT device specific services, the underlying IoT cloud platform, as well as higher level IoT solutions and applications. Specifically, this role will require the person to lead the product management for the IoT cloud platform, which is a foundational service, called AWS IoT.

Basic Qualifications

· BS in Computer Science (or the equivalent), or equivalent professional work experience as a software engineer.
· 10 plus years in technical product management, experience with enterprise products, application infrastructure, and/or developer tools.
· 10 years people manager experience.
· Delivery-focused, with a track record of shipping innovative, customer-centric, and successful products.
· Have owned multiple product cycles with enterprise server products, e.g. operating systems, databases, and other enterprise middleware.
· Have successfully managed business models, customer and market segmentation, marketing plans, sales support/field marketing, and pricing for an enterprise software product.
· Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly at all levels of the company.

· MBA preferred
· Experience in the ISV and/or SI markets
