Director Human Capital Management Technology

Have you led large Workday implementations using only internal resources?

Amazon is looking for a leader to drive our worldwide implementation of Workday. As a seasoned leader, s/he will have hired and developed world-class teams, and have made brave and innovative talent decisions to scale teams to business needs. S/he will demonstrate excellent business judgment to define how to best integrate Workday with Amazon's technology stack, bringing out the best in both.

The People Technology team is responsible for designing and building distributed, scalable, flexible and extensible products and services on AWS infrastructure. These products and services will support our businesses and workforce globally. This includes expanding on not only what software can do for the workforce today but also how to scale processes/software to support hundreds of thousands of employees around the globe. We are building technologies that enable employees to manage all people related tasks that is flexible, extensible and accommodates the addition of new use cases over time. This will be mission critical, global enterprise software for innovative people management that serve both small, unique teams as well a large global employer. Our technology solutions needs to support a diverse workforce and be accessible to employees anywhere and anytime.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering related discipline (or) Masters / PhD in Computer Science
10+ years of experience leading software development or implementation, plus leading large, cross team technical projects.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through both influence and direct management

Experience leading technology organizations (50-100) to deliver large scale software solutions.

The successful candidate will be an independent thinker who makes convincing, data-driven decisions. S/he will devise clear strategy, positioning and execution priorities and will be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. S/he will be a pragmatic visionary who can identify business requirements and lead the team to translate them into workable, scalable technology solutions. S/he must be comfortable working with complex challenges, and working with engineering, product, other stakeholders internationally. S/he will also be an expert in building and developing high performance teams.
