Digital media continues to evolve at a rapid pace as consumers are increasingly spending time online. The Amazon Digital content and commerce platform (DCCP) analytics team team is looking for an analytical and technically skilled individual to join our team.

We are a BI platform team delivering business value by solving analytical challenges related to digital content customer demand generation, engagement, content interaction and KPI measurement. As a member of the DCCP analytics team, you will be building data platforms and datamarts that enables critical recommendations to senior leaders strategy as well as impact product spend decisions. you will be an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and understanding of digital content systems. As a self-starter you will be comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full time position based in our office in Seattle, WA.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data or BI Engineer dealing with large complex data scenarios.
  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS RedShift, S3, RDS etc.
  • Proven ability to work with varied data infrastructures – including relational databases, column stores, NoSQL databases, and file-based storage solutions.
  • Expert in data extraction experience using SQL. Strong ETL experience and experience with Linux.
  • Strong skills with Perl, Python or alteast one similar scripting language.
  • Experience on atleast one data visualization tools (e.g. OBIEE, Tableau, QlikView) is preferred

  • Quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements
  • Learn new systems
  • Create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and orally is a key competency as is demonstrable skill as a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with distributed computing (Hive/EMR Hadoop) a plus.
