We are always building something new and improving something we have built. Most recently, we launched Amazon QuickSight, a very fast, cloud-powered business analytics service that makes it easy for everyone – regardless of their technical skill – to build visualizations, perform ad-hoc analysis and quickly get business insights from their data. As more data is being generated in the cloud and tens of thousands of customers migrating their on-premises data into the AWS cloud, Amazon QuickSight is positioned to change the business analytics. Regardless of whether the data is in Files (desktop or S3), SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), Streaming (Kinesis) data stores or SaaS business applications, Amazon QuickSight makes it easy for our customers analyze and get insights instantly. Our mission is to devise new, innovative ways to simplify data management and analysis and get insights fast, and let our customers focus more on running their business using those insights, and not worry about infrastructure management.

Amazon QuickSight team is growing rapidly, and is seeking a seasoned member with strong product and program management experience in business intelligence, visualizations, and databases. This leader will help define and drive the product strategy and roadmap that will cement AWS as the leader for managing databases in the cloud. You will own large-scale projects and strategic initiatives that directly grow the AWS business in current and adjacent market segments that will have substantial top line and bottom line impact.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive adoption of Amazon QuickSight throughout the entire Amazon by serving our internal customers and partners well. You will achieve that by partnering with various business groups in the organization, diving deep into customer use cases and requirements, shaping and driving the product strategy, product definition, priorities, and roadmap that focuses on customer experience, user adoption, and operational excellence. In this is a highly visible position you will interact with the senior management team within AWS and across multiple businesses. You will be the voice of Amazon that

Key Strategic Objectives:
· Provide unparalleled customer experience that is rooted in rich analytics, fast performance, and ease of use and drive broad adoption of Amazon QuickSight in the entire organization.
· Create and execute on product plans to deliver new features, adoption programs, customer engagements, “how to” guides, and technical documentation.
· Develop a strategic and tactical plan that measures and improves the awareness, trial, and adoption of Amazon QuickSight.
· Lead the organization through change, evolution, and sustained scaling.

The right individual will be a proven leader with drive and competencies to envision the right experience for customers, drive execution, and scale the product to match the business opportunity and fast growth. You will lead by example, being just as passionate about operational performance, security, and predictability as you are about all other aspects of the customer experience. You will not have the luxury of having tunnel-vision for any one area; rather, you will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize and strike the right balance for driving adoption fast. Equally, achieve the right balance among competing priorities for new features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will:

· Be passionate about databases, business intelligence, machine learning, and the large opportunity that AWS presents to reinvent analytics domain
· Have experience defining and delivering market leading technology products/services in the business intelligence space and in a high growth environment where priorities shift fast
· Have the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
· Be a strong leader who can prioritize well, and who understands how to drive focus and excellence within a strong, talented, opinionated team
· Have a strong track record of balancing innovation, customer adoption, performance, scale, and quality

Educational Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree computer science, math, engineering, operations research, statistics, or related discipline
· Candidates with MBA qualifications will be preferred

Preferred Qualifications
From a business and technical perspective, this leader will:

· Have a strong track record of shaping business strategy for technical products or services
· At least 7 years of product and front-end management experience with demonstrated success in shipping market segment defining services, and at least 3 years of managing a large software product line that generated revenue ($100M+) and profits.
· Possess deep industry expertise in data warehousing, data marts, OLAP, SQL, R, SPSS, SAS and similar analytical framework
· Have experience in the product planning and design of a BI service or product
· Have an entrepreneurial spirit

The successful candidate will be a broad leader – part builder, part operator and part general manager. This leader has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team. This leader should have a proven ability to design, deliver, and operate a technical service that is robust in the face of failure around it. It is important that this leader have an operational component to his/her leadership skill set.
