The person in this role must be able to interface effectively with professionals at all levels. You will need excellent communication skills, influencing skills, strategic thinking and planning/project management ability, and the agility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment.

In this position, you will partner with leaders across the Core Machine Learning team to develop and execute HR strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Business Partner provides leadership for initiatives that support talent management, performance management, new leader coaching, organizational design, change management, and employee relations. You will need strong analytical skills and the ability to translate client goals into human resource capabilities needed to achieve results. You will report to the Sr. Manager HRBP of Consumer Experience Technology and Core Machine Learning.

You will take ownership for designing, building and implementing programs, processes and tools to help new managers and employees successfully transition into and thrive in Amazon’s unique customer-centric environment. You will be critical in helping us maintain our peculiar culture as we grow.


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years work experience in an HR Generalist/Business Partner role including, performance management, change management, and employee communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
  • Experience managing HR professionals
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Superior employee relations and influencing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Experience working with: Microsoft Office, project management software, SharePoint

  • Able to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills; a role model for the use of the concepts and skills we teach and exceptional commitment to our Leadership Principles
  • Able to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced, frugal environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities
  • Able to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results
  • Experience working with software development teams
  • Experience in executive coaching
  • Effective collaboration with a global HR team
  • Strong Project/Program Management Skills
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work well across different functions and locations
  • Team building and team development capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and to navigate leaders through a variety of organizational changes
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
