Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. HR Business Partner to work with the senior Amazon Web Services (AWS) leadership team in Seattle, WA. The role will be responsible for driving results and increasing organizational effectiveness and efficiency across the organization. This is an exciting, fast paced role where you will partner with the various senior leaders (VP's and Directors) along with their respective leadership teams to develop and execute the HR strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. This leader will support leaders within the AWS Serverless organization.

The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that supports the business. The Sr. HR Business Partner will assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development, and drive the appropriate solutions in these areas.

The individual will lead and participate in cross group and company-wide projects such as creation of new job families and career paths for Amazon’s technical employees, development of internal processes and policies, plus recognition and retention programs.
We are looking for Human Resource professionals who have the ability to diagnose issues and influence solutions/outcomes. The individual in this role must be able to interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization. You will need business acumen, excellent communication skills, influence skills, strategic thinking and planning/project management skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment. A passion for technology is also key for this client base.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role
  • Experience managing HR professionals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in HR or MBA preferred
  • Experience working with software development teams
  • Experience in executive coaching
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Effective collaboration with a global HR team
  • Strong Project/Program Management Skills
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization
  • Effective communication skills - written, verbal and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage HR teams remotely
  • Ability to work well across different functions and locations
