Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leader in cloud computing, is seeking a talented Sales Productivity Analyst to help revolutionize the way we sell to and serve customers. In this role you will be responsible for solving complex and ambiguous analytical challenges that produce critical business insights. The ideal candidate has strong business acumen, a deep analytical background, and earns trust by delivering results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Define analytical approaches and metrics strategy to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve productivity
  • Design and execute detailed plans and timelines to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the team and leadership
  • Conduct data analyses with the appropriate statistical approach (regressions, factor analyses, t-tests, ANOVAs, etc.)
  • Understand required data, identify where data sets reside and their underlying structure to manipulate through SQL queries
  • Proactively identify problems and opportunities and perform root cause analysis/diagnosis leading to significant business impact

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years SQL experience in an analytical, consulting, strategy, or finance role
  • Expertise in database and statistical software and methods (R, Stata, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (e.g. Economics, Statistics, or a related field)
  • Demonstrated experience with statistics and econometrics (correlations, multivariate regressions, causal analysis, etc.)
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced statistical methods (e.g., fixed effects, difference-in-difference, predictive modeling, cluster analysis, time series modeling) a plus
  • Experience translating findings into compelling recommendations, polished deliverables, and actionable programs
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Proven ability to communicate with business and technical audiences at all levels, including demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and decision makers
  • Entrepreneurial, scrappy, ‘find a way to win’ attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and work well in an ambiguous environment with competing demands
  • Passion for telling a story with data, and using data visualization to help people find meaningful insights
  • Deep interest in research, data, analyzing data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making
