Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a world-class technical leader and strategy advisor who is passionate about helping our customers achieve their most challenging business goals using AWS Services.

AWS IT Transformation Consultants enable customers to achieve their most challenging business and organizational goals through well-managed complex transformation of IT using strategic application of AWS cloud technologies. As a trusted customer advocate, IT Transformation Consultants help organizations understand, plan and implement best practices around advanced AWS-supported scenarios, and drive migrations of enterprise application workloads to AWS cloud. They develop cloud strategies based on IT standards, leading customers and partners over technical and business hurdles of cloud adoption using agile project management approaches.

This role covers a broad range of relevant technologies including: networking, security, compute, storage, database, enterprise applications, ITSM life cycle, and requires strong technical and business leadership including project management, value analysis, change and risk management.

Responsibilities
· Communication: fluently communication with technical, architectural and business audiences by listening to the customer and collaborating with peer teams in both verbal and written form
· Strategy & Innovation: articulate business/industry fundamentals ( e.g., ROI, CBA, TCO); understand regulations and operational excellence (e.g., SOX, Lean, Six Sigma); familiarity with business strategy frameworks (e.g., Norton/Kaplan, Blue/Red Ocean, N-ABC) and trends in the IT industry (e.g., CI/CD, IoT, Predictive Analytics)
· Process & Tactics: experience using industry enterprise frameworks, ontologies, and methodologies to deliver business capabilities through whole systems design and architecture (e.g. TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL)
· Leadership: build and influence relationships, grow collaborative partnerships, proactively and consistently inspire others, achieve successful results in an ambiguous environment, be a catalyst for change (e.g. Lewin, ADKAR, Kotter)
· Organizational & Human Dynamics: effectively work to resolve conflicts, promote industry standards for governance and policies, navigate political situations to achieve common enterprise goals and outcomes (e.g. Arbitration, Mediation, Negotiation)
· Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development
· Technology Depth: demonstrate detailed knowledge of concepts, implementation, patterns, and issues of at least one technology area; demonstrate the ability to quickly assimilate information about new technologies and business models

Essential activities of IT Transformation Consultant:
· Compile, deliver, and evangelize end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation toward cloud computing
· Compile, develop, and deliver architectural guardrails, and align with IT strategy
· Influence stakeholders and ensure compliance within many technology domains that comply with technical and business requirements
· Serve as a subject matter expert to guide technology strategy by convincing decision makers across multiple domains and working with architects in each domain

We are looking for someone who is passionate about:
· IT Architecture, IT Design and IT Environment (Requirements gathering and analysis, Conceptual cloud architecture, Composites, Building blocks, Workload types, Migration patterns and tools)
· IT Operations and optimization (IT Operational best practices, ITIL process groups, deficiencies and remedies, Modern IT operating models)
· Business and Technology Strategy (Valuation, Benefits analysis, Prioritization, Business strategy, IT strategy, Industry analysis, Enterprise Architecture, EA frameworks, migration frameworks)
· Maturity, consistency, governance and quality (Maturity models and heat maps, Automation and Quality Assurance/Control)
· Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance (Security Controls, Risk Management, Regulations and Compliance, Governance models and frameworks)
· Human Dynamics and Organizational Structures (Leadership, people management, corporate cultures, customer relations and peer interactions, collaboration and negotiation)
· IT lifecycle management, IT processes, Delivery (SDLC processes, PM methodologies, transition/migration phases, IT process groups, Business Process Optimization, Service delivery approaches and methods)

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
· Implementing cloud technologies, architectural patterns, complex workloads and IT capabilities
· Re-defining operational processes, ITSM lifecycle, business continuity and IT governance
· Driving IT strategy, value realization, cost/benefit modeling and business case creation
· Assessing current maturity state of IT and defining journey towards modern and efficient IT organization
· Analyzing governance, risk and compliance perspectives and defining security blueprint
· Assessing skills and capabilities of IT staff, re-organizing the team structure and sourcing strategies
· Effectively managing complex project portfolios through various project management methodologies

Basic Qualifications

  • · A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Related Field
    · 10+ years of architecture/implementation/consulting experience on large-scale, enterprise-wide IT endeavors
    · Demonstrated technical depth in at least one of the following: Networking, Security, Storage, Compute, OS, Database, Application Integration
    · Experience developing IT Strategy and Enterprise Architectures in complex environments
    · Large-scale systems integration involving on-premises technology and public cloud platforms
    · History of successful technical sales consulting and architecture engagements
    · Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with technical, architectural and executive audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • · Master’s/MBA degree preferred
    · Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
    · Preferred basic certifications: TOGAF, COBIT, CISSP, PMP, MCSE, VCP, VCDX, RHCE, AWS CSA
    · Advanced board certification highly preferred: Open CA Level 2 or 3, IASA CITA-P
