Amazon Business is looking for an experienced, driven and entrepreneurial Business Development Leader to take a critical role in further growing Amazon Business - a new marketplace on Amazon.com that combines the selection, convenience and value that customers have come to know and love from Amazon, with new features and unique benefits tailored to businesses. Amazon Business provides easy access to hundreds of millions of products – everything from IT and lab equipment to education and food service supplies – as well as business-only selection and pricing.

Core Responsibilities
Our environment is very fast-paced, and requires someone who is highly enthusiastic, flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams in a very ambiguous area. He or she must be able to effectively engage with C-level executive management of top B2B vendors to develop partnership strategies and business growth programs. Core responsibilities include:
  • Identify, negotiate contracts and manage relationships with key vendors across various product verticals.
  • Identify partnership roadblocks and partner with product and program management teams across Amazon to develop solutions to address them.
  • Drive market segment analysis to determine go-to-market strategies. Partner with Category teams, Sales and Marketing to drive business growth for supported vendors.
  • Implement and track metrics for measuring success of vendor and partner engagement.· Bachelor’s degree computer science, math, engineering, operations research, statistics, or related discipline

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years in business development, strategy consulting, sales, vendor/account management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing go-to-market programs
  • A proven track record of leading and driving multiple complex programs to meet business objectives and a demonstrated ability to translate strategic initiatives into detailed operation plans
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; highly motivated and effective within distributed teams with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently, ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or an advanced degree
  • B2B Experience
  • 10+ years experience
