The ideal candidate will be passionate about an opportunity to build elegant systems in the most efficient ways, pushing the limits of current technology and challenging the status quo.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and launch core product features
  • Influence our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product
  • Create world class software and Alexa experiences
  • Interact with cross-functional engineering teams across the company
  • Dive into and take ownership of mission critical puzzles
  • Participate in and drive design reviews

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years experience building production software systems
  • Experience with one or more modern programming languages (Java, C/C++, Objective C, Python) and open-source technologies (Linux, SQLite, OpenGL, Spring, Hibernate)
  • Experience in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
  • Development experience defining, developing and maintaining REST based interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
  • Development experience defining, developing and maintaining web service API's
  • Development experience with Linux and embedded operating systems.
  • Development experience with communications products (e.g. IP messaging, voice , and video)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality
