Job Description

Are you passionate about video, data science and machine learning? Amazon Video is creating Earth's most customer-centric streaming service. The Prime Video Content Analytics team needs an experienced senior business analyst to help build our next generation of content acquisition decision support systems. You will have the opportunity to play with one of the world's largest and richest data sets, leverage the latest technologies (AML, Python, Scala, Redshift) and more, all while influencing the content that is chosen for our Prime Video service.

Major responsibilities:
· Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable, global systems to predict the performance of video content prior to acquisition
· Analyze and understand large amounts of Amazon’s historical video data to identify patterns and implement improvements to the content acquisition process
· Design, develop and evaluate highly innovative models for content performance
· Working closely with software engineering teams to drive rapid improvement of real-time models including new methodologies, refits and new feature creation
· Establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation
· Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches
· Develop and present papers with insights and recommendations at senior audiences
· Provide direction to more junior members of staff on all aspects of analytics from business context and prioritization to technical coaching

Basic Qualifications

· Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Operations Research Analyst, Database Developer, Software Development Engineer, or another related occupation.
· 3 years of experience architecting, developing and operating extremely large-scale platforms and applications in Java, or related software development languages and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

· A strong desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment.
· Understanding of Big Data technologies and solutions.
· Background in financial applications
· Experience prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines are necessary skills.
