Sponsored Products helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners succeed via native advertising that grows incremental sales of their products sold through Amazon. The Sponsored Products Ad Marketplace team optimizes the systems and ad placements to match demand with supply using a combination of machine learning, big data analytics, ultra-low latency high-volume engineering systems, and quantitative product focus. Our goals are to help buyers discover new products they love, be the most efficient way for Advertisers to meet their business objectives and continue to build a big, sustainable business that helps Amazon continuously innovate on behalf of all customers.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer within Auto-Targeting team, you will be designing, developing and owning world class automated advertising product which directly impacts advertiser objective, shopper experience and hits bottom line revenue for Amazon. You will have a direct impact on your customers by putting our vast amount of data to work by deploying advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms to automate advertisers marketing strategies, increase sales and improve the Amazon shopper experience. You will build robust predicting services and run time bidding agents for our auto-targeting product that handle massive throughput under tight latency constraints including optimization of runtime machine learning models.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in computer science, machine learning, data science or related technical discipline
  • 6+ years of industry experience in designing, implementing and operating scalable distributed software systems
  • Strong Coding skills (Java, Python or other language),
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly and define exemplary technical solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal communication with strong verbal / written English skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong demonstrated skills implementing and deploying large scale machine learning applications and tools.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, data science and machine learning (R, Python, SAS, etc.).
  • Experience in Online Advertising Experience (Especially in ad targeting and serving)
  • PhD in computer science, machine learning or relate technical discipline
