Amazon’s Personalization Team is seeking a talented Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to test new cutting edge technology and to push the boundaries on quality for the portfolio of features in P13N. The Personalization Team is responsible for features such as “Customers who bought this item also bought” (aka “Similarities”), as well as personalized recommendations that you find throughout the site. Our features are used by millions of customers each day to discover new products. We are working with exciting new technologies and solving complex testing problems across multiple browsers, platforms and mobile devices, data quality, and data sets from machine-learned systems. The ideal candidate is creative, obsessive about customers, passionate about testing, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
As a QAE on the Personalization QA team, you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and the execution of our test cases and manage our continuous deployment systems that will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers, software test engineers, and managers in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques (equivalence class partitioning, boundary value testing, verifying each requirement and state transition). We expect the ideal candidate to work both independently as well as in collaboration with others on our team as well as with the development staff.
