We’re looking for a UX leader to take our engagement features into the future. We need you to bring our big new ideas to life, and add your own. Your vision will change how customers shop and discover great products on Amazon, and potentially break new ground for the entire industry.

You will work closely with product management, engineering, and business leaders in a hands-on role crafting innovative user experiences to successfully go from early stage product concepts to launch. The ideal candidate is a passionate, yet pragmatic design leader that can analyze customer behaviors, identify opportunities to solve problems, and create an innovative customer experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Your work will focus on mobile first, but you should be passionate about expanding features to create true multi-device experiences that move with the customer from one device to another.

Core Responsibilities

Use business requirements, market research and customer feedback to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements for shopping experiences

Develop and build relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency on Amazon projects

Work closely with research and R&D to ensure that UX customer research and usability are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle.

Mentor and coach other designers to raise the bar for UX design and help individuals further their professional growth.


Basic Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, product designer or similar role designing mobile, web, and/or other on-device applications

Experience successfully managing design teams

Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills

Proven experience with rapid, iterative design and development processes

Proven track record presenting to and influencing people, from other designers to senior executive management

Experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, web developers, writers, product managers and software developers

Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques

Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience within the design field
