Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is building a new team of talented software development engineers focused on developing highly scalable and extensible software platform using cutting-edge technologies. The software applications and platform built by this team will impact multi-million dollar global business and will make it possible for AWS customers and enterprises leveraging AWS around the globe to keep their AWS knowledge up-to-date.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and extensible learning platform on AWS.
  • Heavy focus on event-driven architecture, microservices, infrastructure, test automation, and simplicity.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through software automation.
  • Collaborate on our technology roadmap, turn visions into reality.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development utilizing modern programming language such as Java, C#, or C++. Java experience is preferred.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in developing and maintaining web APIs.
  • Solid computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, etc.)
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including Agile development, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Ability to manage small and medium-sized technical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Track record of designing and building highly-scalable and complex software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with server-less architecture and microservices.
  • Experience with learning management, content management, or related technologies (xAPI, SCORM etc.).
  • Experience with data analysis (Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets).
  • Understanding of the cloud computing space and AWS services.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing web applications.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript is desired.
