Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Accounts and Organizations is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who combines the skill and art of designing and building a high scale identity store supporting fast look-ups and free text search to support the identity for hundreds of millions of users and billions of devices and provide the next generation identity services for the cloud. We are looking for an innovative Senior Engineer to own, build, and grow core systems that make up the AWS Accounts and Organizations services part of AWS Identity organization. You will be responsible for creating and driving the technical vision for the team that designs, develops, tests, and operates Accounts and Organization Management end to end. You'll have strong ownership, work closely with a tight, agile team that ships and you will be able to see the impact your services have on real customers. As a member of the Accounts and Organization team you will help set and meet challenging goals and by working with customers and other leaders throughout Amazon, you will help shape our long term technical and business strategy.

Senior Engineers also provide technical leadership at Amazon.com. They help establish technical standards and drive Amazon’s overall technical architecture, engineering practices, and engineering methodologies. They work on our hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. They think globally when building systems, ensuring Amazon.com builds high performing, scalable systems that fit well together.

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS
Minimum 7 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 7+ years’ software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading large-scale, web-related projects to delivery and completion
  • Deep knowledge designing and building database systems or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge withe building search engines and /or mining repositories of big data in efficient ways
  • 4+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role
  • Experience designing and operating high scale web-applications and/or web-services in production
  • Broad knowledge of programming languages, operating system principles, networking, and software development best practices.
  • Up to date, hands-on experience of developer workflows and tools for multiple languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Clojure, PHP, Node.js, Ruby, Python and Go)
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers to success.
