Job Description

Product titles is the most important attribute that relates to a customer when shopping on Amazon and influences customer buying decisions and search experience significantly. it is used across thousands of systems within Amazon. Our vision is to innovate and automate product titles that adapts to different customer experiences such as website, mobile, echo devices, kindle and so on. Innovation on product titles has direct revenue impact.

This is a great learning experience with the freedom to apply technology as required, opportunity to present and work with principal engineers and contribute to the bread and butter of amazon retail business. You will have the opportunity to dive deep into Machine learning and Natural language processing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Define techniques to generate dynamic titles for 3P. Work with senior and PEs to brainstorm on ideas.
2. Develop deep understanding of the retail pipeline to build an architecture that caters to futuristic needs
3. Mentor, influence and steer the team to deliver with quality.
4. Deep dive, develop and deliver systems that are highly maintainable. Technical leader for the team with the ability to deliver against all odds.
5. Data driven approach for making right architecture decisions, managing business priorities.
6. Evaluate and build innovative technology solutions that can cater to solve business diversity at scale.
7. Work with Applied scientists to build scalable engineering solutions to speed up the business and launches.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ year relevant work experience
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++ or Java
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of delivering highly available, multi-tenanted, high volume systems would be definitely preferred.
  • You are extremely technical and have significant experience developing scalable web applications, with a penchant for building elegant and maintainable systems that get the job done with minimal complexity.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a highly iterative, agile, and open team environment.
  • You build the right product for your customers and pride yourself on delivering products on-time against deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills..
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Domain knowledge of the retail eCommerce domain would be a plus point
  • Experience in using machine learning technologies to solve business problems.
