Job Description

Customer trust is foremost for cloud services provided by Amazon Web Services. Our customers must be guaranteed that their data will ever be exposed. To assure this, physical security of the data centers and the cradle to grave tracking of any and all media types (disks, solid state disks, flash cards etc) are essential. This manager will manage a team that provides tracking and audit of all media. Scanning of inventory and arranging for destruction through approved vendors are major activities. Some destruction will be done by internal team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Hire and manage data technicians at multiple locations
  • Work with tracking software and scanners
  • Oversee the management of locked media bins
  • Supervise internal disk destruction and secure disposal of chaff and scrap
  • Supervise approved disposal vendors and manage disposal certificates
  • Oversee budget
  • Manage employee performance
  • Adhere to all security policies
  • Interface with software developers as needed to enhance scanning software, tracking software and databases used in this process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to interface and deliver reports to senior management
  • Experience in interviewing and hiring
  • Ability to manage remotely as needed
  • Experienced in using all Microsoft Office products
  • Experience using complex applications and data bases
  • Manage and deliver projects of all sizes
  • Prioritize and assign work tickets to staff and follow up on execution
  • Recruit and train skilled technology personnel to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Host weekly staff meetings
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
