Job Description

Are you excited about building tools that directly impact Amazon’s business? Amazon’s Infrastructure Team needs an experienced developer to innovate in optimizing utilization of data center capacity, mathematically forecasting scaling needs, and building tools that enable us to effectively and efficiently manage data center capacity.

As a Software Development Engineer for Infrastructure you will be building and operating systems that enable us to drive Amazon web services, operate Amazon Infrastructure, and provide an interface for customers (both internal and external) to consume infrastructure directly without human intervention. You will have the opportunity to leverage Amazon Web Services and a wide variety of technologies and frameworks. We're building web services in Ruby, Java, and back-end infrastructure built on top of Amazon Web Services. Our full stack currently leverages EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift, etc.

To succeed in this role, you must be passionate about delivering high-quality designs and components. You must be creative in solving hard problems in the Infrastructure space and unafraid to think out-of-the-box.

Basic Qualifications

• OO design and coding skills developing reusable web application.
• Experience on solving complex architecture and business problems.
• Experience building high-performance, highly-available and scalable systems.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Java
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails 3.0.
• Familiarity with Web Services
• Familiarity with database programming
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong customer focus
• Master degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.
