Job Description

The Amazon Merchant Technologies team is looking for a smart, talented engineer with a strong technical background to join the Seller Qualification engineering team.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will you will lead the architecture, design, development, test, and deployment of a range of technologies across Seller Qualification and be a significant contributor to your team as you build, scale, monitor, and optimize the next generation of services that will build a truly efficient Seller Qualification platform. The role requires a pragmatic engineer who can translate business and technical needs across Amazon into scalable solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in developing large-scale distributed systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. We are looking for an awesome engineer with the following skills:

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 or more years’ experience in software development
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with object oriented programming including Java, C++, C#, or C

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience working with large commercial relational database systems (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Masters/PhD preferred
  • Experience developing Unit Tests using tools such as JUnit, NUnit, MSTest to verify your code quality.
  • Strong project-management skills, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior SDEs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
