The organization is a self-standing business with revenue and P&L responsibility.
Within AWS Support we are the organization charged with making the army (over 3K and growing) of engineers and agents who interact directly with AWS' customers into superheroes of technology, who provide service that is unparalleled within the industry. These folks are our customers and we get to build the software that makes them love their job by eliminating complex repetitive manual processes, pulling together vast amounts of disparate data to provide complete situational awareness and coordinating large scale business impacting events. Better still, they are our peers who we come to work with every day and have the opportunity to work side by side with then to understand their needs and get immediate feedback on our products.
Who We Need
We are looking for innovative engineering leaders to join the core of a new applications development team. As a senior engineer for this team, you will work with technical leaders across the company to design architectures for key initiatives that drive the AWS Support business to the next level in scale and customer obsession. You will leverage you deep technical skills to deliver elegant and robust code for our most challenging problems. Use your broad experience to mentor engineers as they grow into their careers and be a champion (as well as student) of engineering excellence: raising the bar on quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, security, and all the other things that raise the bar for great software.
This truly is a ground floor opportunity and you will have the opportunity to help shape the team’s technology and culture from inception. Historically these business units have crowd sourced the tools they need; this team will use that as a starting point to pick what works and reimagine was doesn’t. You will have the ability to build with all of the combined power of both AWS and the Amazon retail development tooling at your disposal. By joining at the very beginning you will get to help us make the design choices that influence our products for years to come. This is your chance to advise us in choosing the best technology to build with before it becomes entrenched in “what we use” or “how we do things.”
