The AWS Release Coordination team is the first point of contact for the network engineers to validate and release a change intent to all Amazon data centers world-wide. We are chartered towards providing our network engineers a seamless user experience from the time they identify a change to the time the change is successfully deployed to the largest cloud infrastructure in the world. Our aim is to make our service the one stop shop for all daily activities network engineers engage in, such as validating and releasing new configuration changes, viewing current progress of the released changes via burndown charts, viewing errors and relaunching jobs, auto ticket filing, onboarding new device layers, etc.
The Release Coordination team is looking for energetic software developers who have a strong customer focus and can work with them to understand their pain points and help shape our solutions/services to have a positive impact on their day to day activities.
· A solid background in computer science: a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent) is required. · 5+ years of experience in building production software applications with focus on efficient back-end components is required. · Proven software development skills, preferably in Java, C/C++, Python, Ruby and/or Perl in Linux environment. · Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, and network protocols · A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms and deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture. · Adept problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Knowledge of major protocols, topology design, network hardware and device configuration. · A solid understanding of performance and efficiency issues. · Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems i.e. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). · Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. · Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team. · Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project. · Strong customer orientation.
