Job Description

Amazon is seeking a strong Senior Manager of Corporate Development to evaluate strategic opportunities. This position is based in Seattle and will support Amazon's mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnership activities. You will be on a small team responsible for identifying and supporting acquisitions and other critical initiatives. You will act as the primary contact in supporting Amazon's business units and senior leadership by conducting industry research, valuation analyses, due diligence, creation of strategic presentations/recommendations, acquisition term sheets, and both internal and external relationship building. He or she will be responsible for raising Amazon’s deal-making profile in the region.


Key Strategic Objectives
• Identify appropriate opportunities which support Amazon's strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and organic pipeline generation
• Partner with business units to evaluate expansion opportunities
• Evaluate the benefits of potential acquisitions and innovate the process of building consensus
• Drive internal thinking on expansion opportunities
• Act as a subject matter authority on valuation and deal structuring
• Lead all pre-transaction diligence efforts
• Evaluate opportunities and risks in potential transactions
• Work with all cross-functional groups within Amazon to execute on the relationships from term sheet signature to proper integration

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of technology business or corporate development experience in a corporate or financial services environment
  • Experience creating and analyzing M&A processes for a wide variety of transactions, including public-public, public-private, and cross-border transactions
  • History of successfully completing high level negotiations


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Very strong analytical and communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate creative and analytical thinking
  • Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow

  • Experience aligning and driving cross-functional groups
