Senior Leader, Technology and Program Management

The Payments Platform provides the foundation on which all payment solutions and experiences at Amazon are built.
In this role, you will be the driving force that collaborates with business and technical teams around the globe to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible - all the while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will work with stakeholders at various levels and multiple business teams to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting our customers' needs. You will work with multiple technical teams to deliver those solutions. You will be the driving force that orchestrates all the moving pieces as needed to ensure successful and on-time delivery. You will also be the face and voice for the project teams you work with. You will ensure that all stakeholders are aware of outstanding issues and project status. You will tailor your communications to specific audiences as well as communicate clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences. As an owner of Payments roadmap, you will be responsible for building quarterly roadmap for the Payments Platform so that all clients of payments platform can expand their business effectively. Finally, as a senior member of the engineering management team you will take an active role in shaping the vision and strategy for Payments at Amazon. We are always on the lookout for ways to improve our SDLC and other processes as well as increasing quality and overall efficiency.

Â· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent)
Â· 5+ years of management experience
Â· 5+ years managing Technical Program Managers
Â· 7+ years of software development experience
Â· Experience leading small and large, multi-tiered organizations (10 â€“ 75+ people)
Â· Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals Preferred Qualifications:
Â· 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience in an internet-related program or applications environment (or equivalent)
Â· Experience managing teams and building solutions in distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
Â· Prior experience establishing/leading an Program Management Office (PMO)
Â· Must be technically credible to lead teams of world-class software engineers and be able to make the right design decisions and technology choices
Â· Deep understanding of overall systems development life cycle including various methodologies (agile, waterfall, iterative)
Â· Experienced in developing the long-term strategy for technology platforms and that translate into an achievable roadmap.
Â· Experienced building and managing teams that designs and delivers scalable, extensible complex distributed systems
Â· has managed departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining best-of-class teams
Â· Understands how to scope and justify resources and budget needs to senior leaders and finance partners
