Joining the recently expanded Webstore Seller Success team you will build traffic driving solutions, and innovate on techniques that drive success of tens of thousands of sellers on the Amazon Webstore platform. You will have the unique challenge and opportunity to write software that benefits millions of guests and interacts with merchants spanning the globe. The ideal candidate will draw upon exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, deep software development experience, and a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems. S/he should drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with aggressive cross-functional business and software development teams to solve complex engineering problems with elegant, innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms and programming languages)
  • Fluency in day-to-day development on Linux platform.
  • Fluency in Java, C++, VC++ or C#. XML/SOAP, XSLT, Perl or Oracle. Experience with messaging and asynchronous architectures.
  • Experience with performance/space tradeoffs and browser compatibility issues.
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD) and Design Pattern.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of software development experience in Java/Linux based environments primarily working on high traffic, concurrent web based applications.
  • Web services and web application/services development preferred.
  • Experience developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment.
  • Experience in one or more J2EE containers (Tomcat, JBoss, etc), open source web-services frameworks (Axis, XFire, etc).
  • Familiarity with Java IDEs like Netbeans or Eclipse a plus.
  • Masters/PhD preferred
  • Strong project-management skills, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
