to join our CloudFront content distribution team. Our projects include
massively scaleable distributed systems that provide inexpensive,

Amazon is seeking a seasoned engineering manager with experience in
Internet-scale distributed systems and a focus on engineering and
operational excellence to help us scale this business from start-up to the
leader in operational performance and market share for distribution on the
Internet. You will lead and grow an engineering team that will extend
CloudFront's global footprint.

fast. The candidate is a strong leader who can prioritize well,

Services business requires creative engineering balanced with a strong
quality and customer focus. This leader should have a proven ability to
design and deliver infrastructure and processes to ensure robustness of a
technical service in the face of failure around it.
The ideal candidate will: - Bring a deep understanding of software development in a team, and a proven track record of shipping software on time
- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
- Have experience with Internet-scale distributed systems
- Possess a strong understanding of the web services industry, highly scalable web servers and caching servers, REST and SOAP, etc.
- Understand networking for example, routers, switches, load balancing, and the TCP/IP protocols including HTTP and DNS
- Ideally have led or participated in the design and construction of a large scale Internet network including DNS, routing, etc., or design and implementation of a large scale distributed system, or design and implementation of highly performant and concurrent web servers

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or related
discipline. Master's degree and/or PhD preferred in mathematics,
computer science, or related discipline preferred.
