Overview:

What would the perfect product detail page look like? As a Product Manager on the Buying Experience team, you will be responsible for improving the customer experience on the most visited product pages in global ecommerce, driving large scale detail page initiatives with a direct and visible impact on Amazon's bottom line.

In this role you will be responsible for developing business and product requirements, writing product specifications, and driving the detail page product development schedule from design to release. You are familiar with making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, and clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams.

The position will require a balance of starry-eyed creativity and hard-headed pragmatism to identify unarticulated customer needs through thoughtful analysis and research. You will work closely with the business and category managers, software development and site design to create and deliver the product roadmap for the global detail page. You will also be responsible in part for managing business relationships through a release cycle as they relate to the products and services developed.  Successful candidates understand the importance of taking immediate actions within context of more ambitious long term vision.

Candidates must have excellent judgment and prioritization skills, the ability to create and sustain urgency coupled with a passion for business, technology and delivering a world class customer experience. Ideal candidates will have an MBA and/or a Computer Science or Information Systems degree or five years equivalent demonstrated work experience, great analytical skills, strong business judgment, superb communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to resolve conflicts and set priorities, and outstanding customer insight.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to define and deliver best in class features
  • A track record of managing and delivering software/website features
  • Direct experience with high traffic, high volume consumer web sites
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce websites
  • Proven experience with online retail and defining and delivering features
